      • The course is entirely project driven and begins with the basics of wiring circuits. This includes building circuits to turn on LED lights, make a light show, activate an alarm buzzer, illuminate an LCD display, etc. In addition to building these fun circuits, students get to write simple computer programs to control devices on their circuits. This means students learn to write codes to make devices do just about anything that they want. The course ends with a major engineering project where students design, build, and program a 4-Way Traffic Light Intersection System with an audible to alert pedestrians when and when not to cross a street.

      • In this immersive art program we will learn fundamental art skills in a variety of media including ceramics, sculpture, charcoal and pencil drawing. Week 1 will cover ceramics and 3D art, including handbuilding, sculpture, and free clay projects. Week 2 will cover drawing fundamentals including shading, color theory, linear perspective and figure drawing.

      • Students will have fun exploring, creating and developing characters and comics. Students will learn anatomy, facial expressions, movements and poses to develop the details of their characters. Followed by learning composition rules, writing and storytelling to pencil their own 3 page comic by the end of the week. Basic drawing skills and figure drawing are helpful but nor required. If you love comics and want to create your own, join us to help your vision come alive!

      • Join Vistamar School’s Model United Nations camp for a week of exploration and team-building fun! Together, we’ll learn about the organization of the United Nations and how it functions. Through a variety of activities, including games and hands-on projects, we’ll discover some of the major issues facing the world today. Then, you’ll become an expert on one of these topics and represent a member nation in a Model UN simulation that completes our week together.

                  • The Vistamar Basketball Camp is an intense and energetic basketball experience designed to help middle school players develop their individual offensive skills while building their understanding of the team game. Campers will receive hands-on instruction while engaging in a variety of skillwork to improve their ball-handling, passing, shooting and finishing. Campers will also compete in several game-like situations intended to prepare them for play at the high school level. The overall goal is for each camper to work hard, have fun and get better on a daily basis! The camp is run by varsity boys' basketball coach David Polett and limited to 30 campers to maximize personal feedback and on-court time.
